E. Widdrington to the front pastedown. Agustin Duran Francisco Gato and Vicente Yanez, 1789 - 1862, was a Spanish writer, scholar of Romanticism, and a great scholar and anthologist of Ballads. Samuel Edward Widdrington (formerly Cook), 1787 - 1856, was an English writer. Having served as a Captain in the Royal Navy, he lived for some years in Spain, and wrote several books concerning the country and its culture. He served as High Sheriff of Northumberland in 1854. He was a fellow of the Royal Society, and the Royal Geographical Society. In a full marbled calf binding. Externally, rubbed to the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
