Pierre Ãtienne Louis Dumont, 1759 Â 1829, was a French political writer. In 1788 Dumont visited Paris with Sir Samuel Romilly. During a stay of two months in that city he had almost daily intercourse with Mirabeau, and a certain affinity of talents and pursuits led to an intimacy between two persons diametrically opposed to each other in habits and in character. Dumont later renewed his friendship with Mirabeau, which culminated in the posthumous publication of his Souvenirs sur Mirabeau in 1832. In the original half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Light wear to the extremities. Mild rubbing to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
