Collated, complete. A three volume complete set. This travel work was written by Reginald Heber, an English bishop, being the bishop of Calcutta. Heber details his journey from Calcutta to Bombay between 1824 and 1825, shortly after being consecrated as Bishop of Calcutta. Also present are his remarks upon Ceylon, and an account of a shorter journey to Madras and the Southern provinces of India in 1826, alongside letters written in this period. Heber died in April 1826, and it is speculated that this was due the toll this journey in a foreign climate took on his body.In the publisher's original cloth, with 'vol I' being re-backed with endpapers and blanks renewed. Front hinge re-enforced to 'Vol II', with 'Vol III' cracked but firm, with owner's signature to the front pastedowns. Internally generally firmly bound with only the odd page starting.
