Dulac is a celebrated French-British illustrator remembered for his illustrations to works of classic literature, as well as designing banknotes and postage stamps during World War II, most notable of which were those that heralded the beginning of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. Produced as part of an association with Leicester Galleries and Hodder & Stoughton, where Hodder had the publishing rights to Dulac's paintings, publishing illustrated gift books once a year, with this being of these decorative and beautifully illustrated gift books. Bound in full decorative cloth. Undated, dated by copies held institutionally. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with minimal wear to the extremities. Front hinge tender, rear starting, with offsetting to the endpapers, and an owner's signature to the front.
