A selection of six volumes of works by English critic, essayist and poet Leigh Hunt, uniformly bound in half vellum.Present here are:'A Jar of Honey from Mount Hybla', 1870, with a frontispiece and vignette illustrations by Richard Doyle.'Table-Talk', 1870.'Men, Women, and Books', 1876.'The Town: Its Memorable Characters and Events', 1878, illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous vignettes.'The Autobiography of Leigh Hunt', 1878.'Wit and Humour Selected from the English Poets', 1882.Hunt was the centre of the Hampstead-based group that included William Hazlitt and Charles Lamb, known as the "Hunt circle", and introduced the literary icons John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Robert Browning and Alfred Tennyson to the general public. In a half vellum binding, with cloth covered boards. Vellum lightly age toned, with gilt detailing to back strips. A touch of fading to spine labels. Discolouration to fore edge of front board of 'The Town&apos. Internally, firmly bound. Foxing to 'The Town' title page. Spotting to first and last few leaves of each volume, with pages otherwise generally clean and bright, with the odd spot. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: Richard Doyle. Very Good Indeed .
