The authorized Tauchnitz edition of this work, being Vol. 17 and Vol. 18 from the publisher's 'Collection of German Authors&apos. Complete in two volumes bound together in half crushed morocco. This historical romance was written by German Egyptologist, Georg Ebers as an early idea of popularising Egyptian lore. After obtaining great success with this work, his subsequent works set against the backdrop of ancient Egypt were also well received. Aside from his writing, Ebers was best known for his purchase of the Ebers Papyrus, one of the oldest Egyptian medical documents in the world. Two volumes bound together in half crushed morocco, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, with scuffing to the boards and general rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
