He was the eighth of ten children born to eminent Victorian author Charles Dickens and his wife Catherine, and their last surviving child. This autobiography tells of his early recollections of his father and schooldays, including a visit from Hans Christian Andersen, his first cases as a barrister, his appointment as Common Serjeant, the war and acquaintances. Illustrated with a frontispiece and fourteen monochrome plates. Collated, complete. Bound in half calf, with cloth boards and raised bands. Externally, very smart, with slight fading to the spine and shelf wear. A couple minor marks to the leather.
