A set of seven titles from French novelist and short-story writer Alphonse Daudet, who is now widely remembered for sentimental tales of provincial life in the south of France. Uniformly bound in quarter crushed morocco, with marbled boards and gilt detailing to the spines. Offering the following works: L'Immortel: Moeurs Parisiennes (1888) - First edition, with no further impression remarks. Jack (1892) - Lacking title page with publisher, date etc. Dated from a copy held at Hathi Trust matching pagination. Numa Roumestan: Moeurs Parisiennes (1896) - "Eightieth thousand" Le Petit Chose (1897) - New edition Le Nabab (1897) - "One hundred and second thousand" edition Les Rois en Exil ('Collection Guillaume', c1899) - Illustrations by Bieler, Conconi and Myrbach Sapho: Moeurs Pairsiennes (c1900) - "One hundred and eightieth thousand" - With in-text illustrations by Rossi, Myrbach etc.  Uniformly bound in quarter crushed morocco, with marbled boards and gilt to the spines. Externally, very smart, with slight rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spines. A few marks to the leather. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned, with the exception of Sapho, Les Rois en Exil and Jack. With occasional scattered spots, most notable to Les Rois en Exil and Jack. Very Good . Ill.: Rossi, Myrbach et al.
