Written by Frank Charles Bowen, an English researcher of maritime history and writer who joined the Royal Naval Brigade in 1914 and fought in the Dardanelles in the First World War. From 1916 to the end of the war he worked in Naval Intelligence, his depth of nautical knowledge was considered to be vital for the war effort. In the original full cloth binding.
