The first edition of this very scarce work.An 1857 act, regarding the preservation and increase of salmon in the River Tweed, and the fisheries in the River, passed on the 17th August 1857, being 20 & 21 Victoria, cap.cxlviii. The River Tweed is known as one of the greatest salmon rivers of Britain. This act was later repealed by the Scotland Act 1998. In the original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing and a few minor marks to the boards and spine. Fading to the spine and extremities. A small amount of buming to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is strained. Pencil to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few handling marks, and the occasional pencil underlining or annotation. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
