The new edition of "Volume I- 1833-4" (1838). The first collected editions of "Volume II-1834-5" (1840), "Volume IV-1836-7" (1838), and "Volume V-1838-40" (1840). The second collected edition of "Volume III-1835-6" (1837). "Volume Vi" has no title page, but according to the printing information to the rear, this volume was published in 1842 and includes the second edition of tract no.89 and the stereotyped edition of no.90. Each volume features a collection of the tracts, all published from various mixed editions. A six volume set. "Volume I" contains no. 1-46, and "Records for the Church" no. I-XVIII. "Volume II" contains no. 47-70 (with numbers 67-70 bound together), and "Records for the Church" no. XIX-XXV. "Volume III" contains no. 71-77, with no. 77 bound to the front. Volume IV" contains no. 78-81. "Volume V" contains no. 82-88. "Volume VI" contains no. 89-90. This set features the complete collection of the 'Tracts for the Times', a series of ninety theological publications which were created by the members of the English Oxford movement, as well as a series of records for the church. The works cover topics such as advent, public prayer, the history of Popish transubstantiation and more. 'Moravian College Library' copy with their bookplates to the front pastedowns. Bound in half morocco with marbled paper to the boards. Original half title retained to Vol III, lacking to the others, and lacking original title page to Vol VI. Externally slight cockling to the paper to the boards with slight rubbing, rubbing to the extremities and joints, and small closed tears to the leather to the heads of the spines to two volumes. Front hinge failed and rear weak to 'Vol I and II', 'Vol III' starting, 'Moravian College Library' bookplate to the front pastedowns. Front free endpapers trimmed to all. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned pages and occasional spotting, with the odd pencil notation. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
