Cobbett advocated for the emancipation of the Catholic people, and wrote these letters detailing the history of the reformation as a way to shine a light on the persecutions of the Catholics. From the library of the late Revd, Owen Thomas, presented by Mr William Thomas to the Theological College in Bala. Bound in full contemporary calf. Externally, generally smart with spines and extremities faded with marks to the boards, rubbing to the extremities, joints and spine, and a slight closed tear to the tail of the spine to 'Vol I&apos. Lacking spine label to Vol I. Small ink note to the front free endpaper to 'Vol I&apos. Internally, title page starting slightly to 'Vol I', otherwise firmly bound with bright pages, with spotting to the front and rear, only the odd spot throughout. Presentation stamps to the front blank to 'Volume II', and to the first page of 'Volume I&apos. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
