As stated in Peter Newbolt's bibliography, this undated work contains a list of works by Henty which includes 'By Conduct and Catalogue', meaning that "This catalogue would have been printed in 1905, which means that at that date Blackie were still selling copies of With Kitchener in the Soudan from the first impression, or at least a reprint issued before the end of 1902.". (G.A. Henty 1832-1902: A Bibliographical Study, Peter Newbolt, 104.1) A tale set during the British military expedition under Lord Kitchener. Written by George Alfred Henty, English novelist and war correspondent known for his influential work of juvenile adventure and historical fiction, which inspired authors of the likes of Herbert Strang, Henry Everett McNeil, and Percy F. Westerman among others. Illustrated with ten illustrations by William Rainey, and three maps. Collated, complete. Bookplate to front paste down dated 1913.Bound without the publisher's catalogue. Bound by Relfe Brothers in a full calf prize binding for Falconbury School. Externally, excellent, with light rubbing to the extremities, a little fading to the spine and the odd light mark.
