Bentley was nominated as the first Boyle lecturer, a series of lectures named after Robert Boyle which often considered the relationship between Christianity and philosophy. This work contains Bentley's eight Boyle lectures from 1692, four letters from Sir Isaac Newton to Bentley ant three sermons on various subjects. With notes and edits from the Rev. Alexander Dyce. With bookplates of Carlo Collier, John Robert Wright and Gallery Poisson. Bound in full calf. Externally, sound, with rubbing to joints and extremities and a few marks. Front joint is cracked to the head, with the front board a little strained. Bookplates to front paste down and endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Good . Ill.: None.
