The fourth edition of this scarce work, which was first published in 1861.A collection of nine theological essays, edited by English church leader William Thomson.These essays include 'Prophecy' by A. McCaul, 'The Death of Christ' by Thomson himself, 'Scripture, and its Interpretation' by Charles John Ellicott, and 'The Mosaic Record of Creation' by McCaul. With the bookplates of John Wilkinson and David Arthur Pailin, a British philosopher and theologian, to the front free endpaper, and an Oxfordshire Diocese library bookplate to the front pastedown. Pailin's inscription also appears to the verso of the front free endpaper. In a half calf binding with cloth covered boards, and with gilt detailing to back strip. Externally, excellent, but with handling marks to fore edge of front board. Bookplates to front pastedowns and front free endpaper, with inscription to verso of front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Significant spotting to first and last few leaves, with pages otherwise clean and bright. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
