A prize copy presented by the headmaster of the college, Edmund Warre, to a 'Roberto Carols Syduey Ffrench Blake. The collected poems of Thomas Gray, the English poet known for his 1751 'Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard&apos. This work is comprised of many poems, including Ode on the Spring, The Triumphs of Owen and the Hymn to Adversity. Containing Gray's original poems as well as translations into English and Latin verse of the works of Petrarca, from the Anthologia Græca, and others. Bound in full calf. Externally excellent with slight marks, very minimal wear to the extremities and joints, and marking to the spine. Presentation and owner's bookplates to the front pastedowns.
