Singmaster was emeritus professor of mathematics at London South Bank University, and was a puzzle historian, a big fan of mechanical puzzles, and an early adopter and promoter of the Rubik's Cube. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, a little worn and rubbed. Small chips to the joints, and tear to the head of the rear joint. Spine is faded. Light marks to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's in kinscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
