Rear board detached.Undated, dated from the preface and the publisher's name being 'Ward, Lock, & Tyler&apos. Charles T. Tyler joined Ward and Lock as a partner in 1865, at which point the company's name changed, until he left in 1873 and the company's name reverted to Ward and Lock. The company was given the rights for this work in 1866 when Samuel Orchart Beeton was obliged to sell his titles to Ward and Lock, including the title of his deceased wife's work. In a half straight grain morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Rear board detached. Small losses of leather to back strip head, with rubbing to back strip head and tail. Lower half and head of rear joint starting, with board a touch tender. Inscription to front free endpaper. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound.
