Tells the story of three generations of slaves, and of the men who owned them. Onstott is recognised for his settings of plantations and of the lives of enslaved African Americans, best known for his novel Mandingo, which was adapted as a 1975 feature film. In the original cloth bindings. With the publisher's dust wrappers, all unclipped except for 'Villains Galore&apos. Externally, very smart, with mild rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Dust wrappers are smart, with edge wear. Chips and damp stains to the wrap of 'Drum' and sunning to the spine and a damp stain to 'Iron Wil&apos. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with age toning to the pages of 'Drum&apos. With the odd spot to 'Iron Will' as well as a small contemporary ink inscription to its front free endpaper.
