He documents his visits to the Bay of Island, Whangaroa, Kokiango, and others, providing many details regarding the customs and people of the country. Notably, Cruise discusses the Boyd Massacre of 1809. Bound in half calf with paper-covered boards. Endpapers retained. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and a little discolouration to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with just the odd handling mark or light spot.
