This edition was intended as a library edition for ordinary households. Its serialised publication format meant that less affluent families could own the entire twenty-two volumes. This particular set has been rebound in leather. The set comprises: The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit (1872), with fifty-nine illustrations by J. Barnard, including four plates. Bleak House (1873), with sixty-one illustrations by F. Barnard, including three plates.Little Dorrit (1873), with fifty-eight illustrations by J. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the spines and extremities. A little shelf wear to the boards. A little cracking to the front joint of 'Bleak House&apos. Internally, firmly bound.
