The first edition of this Ray Bradbury science fiction novel, which was published the year prior in the US under a different title, and with slightly different textual material. The copy of the ABC TV Script Department. The first edition, first impression. In a later state of the publisher"s original unclipped dust wrapper, with advertisements for Bradbury's later works, including 'The Day it Rained Forever' and 'Dandelion Wine' to the rear.  'The Silver Locusts' was published as 'The Martian Chronicles' in the U.S. in 1950, with slightly different contents. 'The Silver Locusts' chronicles the settlement of Maris, home to the Martians, as Americans come to the planet to escape the Earth, destroyed by nuclear war. With the stamp of the ABC TV Script Department to the text block fore edge, the front free endpaper, half title, and a rear blank. While ABC never adapted the novel for television, in 1980 their rival network NBC partnered with the BBC to commission an three episode adaption of the work, a series Bradbury termed "just boring". In the publisher"s original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Light shelf wear to back strip tail, otherwise externally excellent. ABC stamp and ink marking to front free endpaper, half title, rear blank and text block fore edge. Age toned tape and small paper label adhered to dust wrapper back strip tail. Small in mark to rear wrap, with light edgewear to wrap heads. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed/Very Good.
