The character Richard Hannay grew in popularity after featuring in Alfred Hitchcock's movie 'The 39 Steps', inspired by Buchan's novel under the same name. This novel follows Hannay as he protects the son of a man he once knew, who is now the heir to a great and secret fortune. In the publisher"s original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with very minimal wear, a slight lean, and minimal bumping to the tail of the front board. Spotting to the endpapers. The wrap has handling marks, spotting, and small closed tears and chips to the extremities, with a one inch closed tear to the front joint.
