The first edition of this very scarce work.Author's presentation copy, inscribed to the recto of the front free endpaper, "To Prof. Goodell - with the regards and compliments of his friend and classmate, Walter Brooks, March 5th 1907". Goodell was a professor of Greek at Yale from 1888 to 1920. During his career he published volumes on Greece and classical authors. An anthology of poetry by Walter Brooks, collecting together twenty-five poems.The poems in this volume include: 'Imagination', 'Love's Needs', 'Diversion', 'Lightheartedness', 'Illusions', 'The Prayer Rug', 'Blossoms', and more.Yale University Library label to the front paste down, gifted to the Library by Mrs. Thomas D. Goodell in 1933. In a half morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing to the spine and extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Yale label to the front paste down, additional torn label to the rear paste down. Author's inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
