Book two of 'The Torch' journal, produced by students of the city of Birmingham School of Printing, from the department of the college of arts and crafts. There were two other journals published, being Number One and Number Three.A collection of specimen pages of pamphlets and books published by the press, as well as advertisements, photographs and reports printed in various colours. Including a 'Catalogue of Books' and numerous engravings by John S. O'Connor, together with examples of work produced under his direction by the students attending his classes at Birmingham School of Printing. Edited by Leonard Jay, a teacher at the school who advocated the application of aesthetic principles of the Arts and Crafts movement and Private Press to the mechanical composition of commercial printing. Bound in the publisher's red cloth. Externally, very smart, with light marking to boards and a little darkening to cloth. Internally, firmly bound.
