The set is heavily illustrated throughout by the likes of Marcus Stone and George Cruikshank, and includes Dickens' most popular works such as 'Oliver Twist', 'A Christmas Carol', 'A Tale of Two Cities' and 'Nicholas Nickleby&apos. Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards by "John Dale and Co" with their binder"s stamp to the front pastedown to all. Externally smart with fading to the spines, marks to the boards, and slight rubbing to the extremities, with a slight lean and minor cockling to the front to "Barnaby Rudge Vol I", and closed tears to the leather to the head of the spine to two volumes. Binder"s stamp to the front pastedowns. Internally generally firmly bound with generally bright pages and occasional spotting, heaviest to the front and rear.
