The second portion of the catalogue for the collection of important Japanese lacquer and other objects of Japanese art formed by Sir James John Trevor Lawrence, 2nd Baronet, an English surgeon, horticulturalist, and art collector who later became a Conservative Member of Parliament . To be sold by Christie, Manson & Woods auction house, now known as Christie's, founded in London by James Christie, a Scottish auctioneer. The sale was to take place on Monday 4th December 1916. Bound in the original paper wraps. Externally, sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and board edges with the odd small closed tear. The odd small mark to the boards with a pencil inscription to the front board. Light rusting from the staples. Internally, firmly bound.
