Collated, complete. A collection of six fantasy tales written by British-born screenwriter and author, John Collier, best known for his short stories, many of which appeared in The New Yorker. Collier received international acclaim from authors including Roald Dahl, Wyndham Lewis and Anthony Burgess, winning the International Fantasy Award for his collection 'Fancies and Goodnights&apos. This particular collection featured stories including 'The Devil, George and Rosie', 'Possession of Angela Bradshaw' and 'Half Way to Hell&apos. Greatly received, this work was labelled as "one of the great fantasy collections" by American science-fiction editor and scholar, E. F. Bleiler. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities and a few light marks to cloth. Light cockling to cloth at the head of the front board. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper.
