The novel was followed by 'The Wapshot Scandal' in 1964. A humorous tale surrounding the eccentric Wapshot family as they muddle through their lives in a Massachusetts fishing village. Regarded as somewhat autobiographical, with the character of Coverly likened to Cheever, in that they both experienced feelings of bisexuality. Interestingly, 'The Wapshot Chronicle' was the first novel chosen for the Book of the Month Club to include the F word. Bound in the publisher's cloth with the price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear and the odd mark, heavier to the rear board. Dust wrapper is very good, with edge wear and a few closed tears. Loss to the backstrip tail, with a small area of rubbing and loss to the rear panel. Light spotting to wrap's rear and verso. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages. Very Good Indeed .
