A vivid novel, set in Europe during the post-war boom, and in the Deep South during the Jim Crow era.Zelda wrote this novel whilst a voluntary patient at Johns Hopkins Hospital's Phipps Clinic in Baltimore. Though the publisher was unimpressed with the novel, he was urged to publish it by her husband. Though F. Scott praised the writing, it was a critical and commercial failure, selling around 1,300 copies. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart.
