Eventually he takes to the road, where he meets Romany travellers. The author gives memorable and sympathetic portraits of the people he meets. George Borrow was a travel writer, best known for his works about his time with the English Romanichal. He includes, in 'Zincali' a helpful glossary of Romani terms. With the stamp 'R. H. M - P' to the front blank of each volume. Bound by E. Pouget in full crushed morocco with gilt dentelles. Endpapers and blanks renewed, half titles retained. Externally, generally smart, with rubbing to the joints, heavier to the front. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine to volume III. The odd mark to leather and a little fading to the spines. Hinges are slightly strained, mainly to the front, although are holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just the odd handling mark. Stamp to the verso of the front endpaper, with a pencil inscription to the same page of volume I. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated.
