Collated, complete.In the publisher's original decorative gilt cloth with the original very scarce glassine dust wrapper and the original slipcase. The design of the cloth binding is based on that of a copy of Theocritus bound for Marie-Antoinette in 1792, bearing her arms.A historical biography on the imprisonment and last days of King Louis XVI of France, made up of two works, one written by Jean-Baptise Clery, the personal valet to the King and the Abbe de Firmont. In the publisher's original cloth with the original glassine dust wrapper and the original slipcase. Externally lovely. Minor offsetting to endpapers. The wrap is smart with a closed tear and slight loss to the rear. The slipcase is excellent with the odd minor mark. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. Fine . Ill.: None stated.
