Collated complete.This is a thorough and colourfully illustrated collection of portraits depicting some of the most significant figures in the British Army, including Sir Charles William Wilson, Sir Frances Grenfell, General Babington, and Lord Kitchener of Khartoum. Its editor, Charles Napier Robinson, was an English journalist and general author who having achieved the rank of Commander during his service in the Royal Navy went on to write on naval matters. Quarter bound in morocco leather with gilt cloth to the boards. Externally, sound with minor handling marks including a damp stain, and rubbing, heaviest around the backstrip. A pair of minor indentations to the fore edge, in addition to some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities resulting in fractional loss to the cloth and leather. Hinges strained. Internally, firmly bound with pages that are generally very bright and clean, save for the odd spot or small handling mark, heavier to the outer leaves. Very Good . Ill.: Not stated.
