Edmonds & Remnants were a prominent bookbinders during the nineteenth-century specialising in embossed bindings.Full bound in the original publisher's handsome moire cloth with a gilt fish design to the front board.Uncommon.William Hughes was a British writer from the nineteenth-century who wrote several books on law and on angling. This is Hughes' specialist recommendations for the culinary preparation of various fish, with chapters on Dories, Eels and Congers, Salt Fish, and Shellfish, among others. In the original publisher's full moire cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with some small damp stains, light rubbing, and some minor handling marks. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine resulting in fractional splitting of the cloth. Hinges are a touch strained. Bookplate to the front pastedown.
