At the core of the story is an inn, named The Silver Swan, whereupon a mysterious stranger stumbles across one day.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and three plates, by the eminent caricaturist John Leech. Collated, complete.Sixteen pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. Light marks to the cloth, heavier to the rear board. Tear to the head of the rear joint. Hinges are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots.
