He subsequently edited the 'London Saturday Journal' and 'Grant's London Journal&apos.The 1837 fifth edition of 'Random Recollections of the House of Commons&apos.The very scarce two volume first edition of the 1838 second series of 'Random Recollections of the Lords and Commons&apos.The second edition, complete in two volumes, of the very scarce work 'The Bench and the Bar', pub. 1838. This is a scarce collection of biographies of judges and counsels in the different courts of Great Britain, and general remarks and anecdotes relating to the courts.The uncommon two volume 1839 first edition of 'Travels in Town', a collection of travel writings on London, with chapters on the streets, the parks, Downing Street, the British Museum, the newsmen, the post office, bookselling, religious denominations and more.The very scarce 1839 two volume first edition of 'Walks and Wanderings in the World of Literature&apos.The vanishingly scarce 1841 two volume first edition of 'Portraits of Public Characters&apos. In half calf bindings, with marbled paper covered boards. Significant rubbing to back strips and board perimeters. Lacking two spine labels, with significant losses to a further four labels, and minor losses to the perimeters of a further two labels. Hinges all strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound.
