It features retellings of a wide collection of fairy tales and folk tales from around the globe, such as Schippeitaro, The Enchanted Knife, and Virgilius the Sorcerer. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally, sound with damp staining and fading to the cloth. Spine is cocked. Slight bumping to the spine's head and tail and the extremities with marginal splitting to the cloth in these areas, as well as one minor nick to the cloth towards the head of the spine. Hinges failed. Previous owner's inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Internally, binding is a touch strained. Significant offsetting to the title page. Pages have handling marks, some tidemarks, and some age spots, as well as a few minor closed tears. Several illustrations have been coloured in and on. An old post stamp to pp. 944v, impacting text.
