The first edition. Previously owned by Joseph Haslewood with his gilt bookplate to the verso of the front free endpaper. Haslewood was an English author and antiquary, and is best known for being the founder of the bibliophilic 'Roxburgh Club&apos. Ornamented with Churchyard's arms, and a facsimile of his writing, and signature. Bound in full calf, rebacked. This work was written by George Chalmers and contains a collection of works by Thomas Churchyard relating to Scotland, with an account of his life. Churchyard was an English author, best known for his autobiographical verse collections, which are included in this volume. Bound in full calf, rebacked. Retaining blanks. Externally generally smart with rubbing to the boards and extremities, and marks to the boards. Bookplate to the front pastedown with pencil annotations to the endpapers and a ink notation to the front free endpaper.
