It was one of four international exhibitions held in Glasgow during the late 19th and early 20th centuries and attractede over 9 million visitors. With ten pages of illustrated advertisements to the beginning of the work.  In the original royal blue cloth binding. With 'Presentation Copy' and arms stamped in gilt to the front board. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities and darkening to the spine.
