Hazelwood Shannon and J. W. Gleeson White. Profusely illustrated with striking plates from artists including Dante Gabriel Rossetti, James McNeil Whistler, Laurence Housman, and more. Notably, this volume contains an original lithograph from Whistler entitled 'The Doctor- Portrait of my Brother', although unfortunately, this has been damaged by a tea spillage. Illustrated with twenty plates. Collated, complete. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, generally smart, with light marking to boards, including a damp stain to the front. Small tear to front joint. Front hinge is a touch strained, but holding firm. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with light cockling to pages and small tidemarks to the occasional page extremity, heavier to the front half of the work. Tide mark to majority of the plates, mainly just affecting the margins, although affecting most of the lithograph plate to page 29. Very Good . Ill.: Various. Very Good .
