Written by Joseph Octave Delepierre, a Belgian lawyer, archivist, diplomat, author and antiquary who spent his later life in the United Kingdom, and is best known for his studies of macaronic language and literature. In the original half calf binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light loss to the extremities. Minor bumping to the board tips with the odd mark to the boards. Fading to the spines with light loss to the head of the spine of volume two. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting and the odd small handling mark. Further spotting and age toning to the endpapers. Library bookplates to the front endpapers with ink inscriptions to the front pastedown and endpapers. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
