This issue with the misspelling of 'Flanders', as 'Flandres', to the title page.This poem, by Richard Blackmore, was written by him to court the favour of the Duke of Marlborough. In particular, this poem celebrates the Duke's victory at the Battle of Oudenarde the year before, during the War of the Spanish Succession.ESTC T37316Blackmore was a poet, physician, and for being the butt of satire by the members of the Scriblerus Club, including Pope and Swift.  Unbound, as issued.
