Two very scarce works bound together and held in paper wraps.The first of these works is a 1709 edition of Sir Richard Blackmore's burlesque 'The Kit-Cats', a mock-heroic poem on the Whig dining club of the same name, which had recently been established. This work was first published the year prior.The Kit-Cat was founded by the bookseller and publisher Jacob Tonson, with the aim of promoting the principles of the Revolution and the Protestant succession.ESTC. T29488The second of these two works is the 1709 second printing of Hill's piracy of Joseph Browne's short poem 'St. James's Park', first published the year prior.A scarce satirical poem from Browne, who was frequently described as a charlatan and hack, and was twice convicted in 1706 for libelling Queen Anne's administration.
