The first edition. Bound in black cloth, with renewed endpapers. The half title and original spine label have been retained. Very scarce. A collection of poetry written anonymously, although attributed to Yorkshire-born poet, Thomas Hollins. Containing historical and descriptive poetical sketches surrounding the author's home city of York, with additional notes to each part. Following this are numerous miscellaneous poems from Hollins, covering a variety of topics, although many focus on death. Illustrated with a frontispiece of York Minster. Bookplate of J. O. Edwards to the front paste down. Bound in black cloth, with renewed endpapers. Half title and original spine label have been retained. Externally, generally smart, with bumping to the extremities. Cracks to the joints, with the portion of the backstrip containing the spine label lifting slightly, with evidence of amateur repair. Hinges are slightly strained, but holding firm. Bookplate to front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright, with the odd spot or handling mark. Pencil inscription to title page. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
