Her novel Dance of the Years (published under the title The Galantrys in America) is a fictionalised version of her own family heritage. It focuses on the Victorian success story of James, a character inspired by Allingham's great-grandfather. In the original publisher's binding with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, the book is smart with excellent colour to the cloth. Spine is cocked. A touch of bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities. Dust wrapper is sound. Closed tears as well as a few chips, to the spine and front bottom edge. Some rubbing to the wrapper at the joints and extremities. Internally, binding is generally firm.
