With chapters on the processes surrounding 'Disobedience, Desertion and Punishment', 'Training and Exercise', 'Appointing Officers', 'Allowances, Pay and Relief to Families' and much more. Written anonymously.With an unpaginated index of eight pages to the rear of the work. With the ink inscription of Sir John Ingilby Ripley, the first baronet of Ripley Castle in Yorkshire. Bound in the publisher's original paper-covered boards, with the original endpaper retained. Externally, generally smart, with slight bumping to the extremities and light marks to boards.
