Title: Heroes & Villains, and, the Passion of New Eve
Description: London ; London, Heinemann ; Victor Gollancz, 1969-1977. First edition. Cloth. The uncommon first impressions of the first and first U.K. editions of two novels by Angela Carter. The 1969 first U.K. edition, first impression of 'Heroes & Villains', and the 1977 first edition, first impression of 'The Passion of New Eve&apos.Uncommon. Angela Carter is an English author revered for her rich contributions to feminist and post-feminist dystopian literature. She is widely regarded as one of the latter twentieth century's most significant writers. Both Heroes & Villains and The Passion of New Eve are abundantly and darkly imaginative novels which vividly explore themes of gender, violence, and the politics of power. Both in the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, 'Passion of New Eve' very smart and 'Heroes & Villains' smart with just slight fading of spine's cloth and a very minor mark to cloth on the front board. A touch of bumping to tail of 'Passion of New Eve' spine and to head and tail of 'Heroes & Villains' spine and extremities. On 'Heroes & Villains' front first free endpaper, evidence of bookplate removal and a minor annotation. Internally, firmly bound with pages bright and clean; just a scattering of spots limited to the extreme fore edges of each. A faint, minor red mark on title page of 'Passion of New Eve&apos. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
