His reign was characterised by his ability to guide his country through the religious unrest between Anglicans, Catholics, and dissenters. With fifty illustrations, including a frontispiece in colour. Collated, complete. With an additional forty-three plates in duplicate, included in an additional portfolio to the rear of the work. Bound in the publisher's original chemise, with the paper wraps and housed in the original slipcase. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing to joints causing paper to lift slightly. Paper wraps are slightly discoloured, with marking and a few spots. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with scattered spots to the fore edge. Some pages remain unopened.
