A large folding map of central England and Wales, to aid with planning cycling and motoring routes. With all main roads specifically coloured. Produced by Bacon's Maps, founded by George Washington Bacon, an American mapmaker and publisher who developed a successful business producing maps of London. In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities. Minor sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Loss to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. The map is very bright with the odd spot and light tide marks. A tear, or loss, to part of the map from pest damage resulting in a 6" closed tear to the fold of this section of map.
