Jean-Baptiste Boudard's highly illustrated iconographical dictionary, first published in Parma, Italy in 1759. This work is written largely in French, although also contains a parallel text in Italian, with the translation provided by the author's friend Abate Giuseppe Pezzana. An alphabetical work, this volume commences with the letter 'F', running through until 'M&apos.Compiled by Jean-Baptiste Boudard, a French sculptor known for his iconic statues and busts, who spent most of his life living an working in Italy. An excellent example of the work, with pages remaining exceptionally bright. Bound in half calf with paper-covered boards. Externally, sound, with rubbing causing some loss to the extremities and paper covering the boards. Rubbing to the spine causing loss to leather. Rear joint is cracking, with the rear hinge slightly strained. Front hinge is also a touch strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are exceptionally bright and clean, with some handling marks to the first and last few pages only. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
